From Data to a Decision
Sorting uses views, add-to-carts, sales and stock to order your collections. The same data also shows problems that sorting alone cannot solve: a best seller that is about to sell out, or a product that draws traffic and sells nothing.
Merchandiser reports these as actionable insights. Each one names a product or a collection, shows the evidence and recommends an action.
Example
Best seller is nearly out of stock
- Product
- Hooded Rain Jacket
- Evidence
- 38 weekly purchases with 12 units remaining.
- Recommended action
- Replenish inventory or reduce this product promotion.
The Seven Insights
Five insights are about products and two are about collections. They are based on the performance of the last week.
- High traffic with low conversion
- An in-stock product gets many views and converts very few of them. Review price, imagery, product content and variant availability.
- Best seller is nearly out of stock
- A product that sells well has few units left. Replenish inventory or reduce its promotion.
- Overstocked product has low demand
- A product has a lot of stock, no purchases and little traffic. Increase visibility, review pricing or include it in a campaign.
- Cart interest is not converting
- A product is added to carts often and not bought. Check checkout friction, price competitiveness and sellable stock.
- Demanded product has limited variant availability
- A product that customers look at or buy is missing most of its sizes. Replenish the popular variants or lower its ranking.
- Active collection is empty
- A collection that is live has no products. Add products or disable the collection until it is ready.
- Collection traffic dropped significantly
- A collection had far fewer visits this week than last week. Review its placement, assortment and ranking changes.
Insights have one of three severities: critical, warning or info. You can search them, filter them by severity and by type, and open the product or the collection straight from the list. The dashboard shows how many are open.
Product Badges
Badges mark notable products wherever you work with them, such as on the cards of a collection's sort page. Four are assigned automatically:
- Best Seller
- The top 5% of products by weekly revenue.
- Fast Seller
- The top 5% of products by daily revenue.
- Most Popular
- The top 5% of products by weekly views.
- Size Broken
- 30% or fewer of the product's sizes are in stock.
Three more follow thresholds that you set yourself:
- High Inventory
- At least the stock and the size availability you choose.
- Low Inventory
- At most the stock and the size availability you choose.
- New
- Listed within the number of days you choose.
Reports
A report lists your top in-stock products by one metric: views, add-to-carts, purchases or conversion rate for the last day, week or month, or rating, number of reviews or stock.
Each row shows the product with its price, stock, weekly purchases and the date it was listed.
The Product Catalog
The Products page is your catalog as Merchandiser sees it. You can search it, filter it by availability, brand, category, color, gender and season, and sort it by any of the performance metrics.
A product's own page shows its performance for the day, week and month, how many of its sizes are in stock, and every collection it is in, with its position there and whether it is pinned.
When your warehouse stock is connected, a separate list shows products that have stock in the warehouse but are not on sale in your store.
Exports
Insights, reports, the product list, the collection list and the products of a single collection can each be exported as a spreadsheet.
How This Relates to the Health Score
Insights look at single products and single events. The Collection Health Score looks at a whole collection and rates the condition of its shelf. The two are meant to be used together.
